Do I have to use a sblogit.com domain with my business blog?CREATED BY STEFFI LEWIS Although I give my sBlogIt! bloggers a domain name based on their email address, there are times when they request something a little more personal, or even a subdomain associated with their website ... Sblogit! soar high, On wings of creativity, Words take flight, unite A different domain name for a sBlogIt! blog is quite feasible. It really comes down to a choice of what you want. The majority of my users are happy to use a domain made up of their email address (sans things like the @ sign and full stops) followed by sblogit.com but there are times when they want to change that. I'll do any domain name changes for free!In the future, I will make a charge for this service, but for now, all domain name charges are free. So it just depends on what you want. The simplest choice is yourname.sblogit.com and this can be tweaked very easily. As it still uses the same SSL certificate the change process takes just seconds. The more complicated process is when someone wants to map an entirely new domain name to their blog (such as www.steffilewis.com) or a sub-domain from their own website (blog.yourwebsite.com). Remember, 'www' is just a subdomain so there shouldn't be an issue updating your Advanced DNS with a new 'A' record called 'blog' that points at my servers. It won't affect your website, except to give it all the Google-juice your blog generates. Making this change takes a little longer as I have to make my servers respond to the new domain and deliver the blog when requested. I need to put you on a different SSL certificate as well.
